Review of Gorillas in the Mist (1988) by Chris W — 10 Aug 2008
Michael Apted brings the true story of Dian Fossey's life and mysterious death to the big screen with a real focus on both the characters and politics of the time. The footage of real mountain gorillas is breathtaking, while Sigourney weaver gives a perfect performance, never downplaying Fossey's apparent stubborness for audience sympathy.
Hers is an unflinching portrait of a difficult, dedicated woman whose passion for the preservation and protection of these amazing animals ultimatley lead to her demise.A great film.
