Review of Goosebumps (2015) by Saitou Y — 08 Jan 2016
A comedic take on a sinister source material that follows a teenager moving from New York City to the small town of Madison, next to the fortress of the well-known R.L. Stein, author of a children fiction novellas thus the title, and with his locked-up daughter.
Judging from its level of entertainment, Goosebumps certainly enthralls the audience with a playful premise, smart plot, and a pint of drama, but is held back by terrible acting and cheap humor. Without Jack Black's comedic charm, this movie would just be a wreckage of family-friendly adventure.
