Review of Goosebumps (2015) by Tofewviews — 10 Feb 2016
As a child I loved watching/reading Goosebumps and going into this film I was really hoping it could capture the enjoyment I had as a child. But sadly it didn't quite do that, But It sure tried. As and adult I found the movie very stereotypical and predictable but I'm sure as a child the film would of felt much more interesting.
Most scenes just felt odd and like their could have been so much more done, most rely on heavy amounts of special effects. But I'm sure a younger audience will find this much more enjoyable, once you seen past the typical story and the oddness of Jack Black being R.
L. Stine. Seeing all the different monsters from past Goosebumps shows and books, It felt extremely nostalgic seeing most of them and remembering watching them as a kid and no sleeping that night. All together I like what they tried doing with Goosebumps but just feels as it falls short and could have been much more.
Proceed with cation.
