In the most condescending, corporate way possible, "Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween" is a movie for kids. It's not a kids movie, nor is it a family movie; this film is solely made to be thrown on as a mind-numbing distraction for young children.
There's no real sense of conflict, character, or stakes while the makeup and special effects that splash the screen for no more than twenty honest minutes in focus look as bad as a B-movie made for television.
A throwaway piece of unstimulating junk that doesn't deliver on any front for kids or adults, you'd be better off screening "Requiem for a Dream" to your children and dealing with years of collateral trauma than wasting an hour-and-a-half on this movie.
