The fact that this was a labour of love for lifelong hockey fan Jay Baruchel shines through in Goon, a comedy that makes you laugh, while the hockey scenes are also entertaining and well done. The subtext of a fighter fighting to keep his job on his team, and in hockey in general, isn't lost either.
