Review of Goon (2012) by Rob L — 10 Sep 2012
More profane and bloody when it should be funny and entertaining, it made me long for the joys of Paul Newman's roguish rascal Reggie Dunlop, clearly a cousin of this film. Still, amongst the various introduced then abandoned plot lines and faux director-ly style, it wasn't without its exciting moments and underneath the broken teeth, there is a beating heart, as embodied by the relationships between Scott, Pill, and Baruchel.
Also helped to solidify the idea that I'll enjoy anything as long as Liev Schreiber is in it.
