Review of Goon (2012) by Ryan J — 14 Sep 2012
Meet Doug Blatt, the Jewish enforcer for the Halifax Highlanders, nicest guy who will punch the living fuck out of you. This is THE sports movie. It's hilarious, Sean William Scott (best thing he's been in and that's saying something) actually plays Doug so well as he gets hired to just be the goon of the ice hockey rink, to go out there and protect the star player and get the spark back in his game.
He finally has something in his life, sick of being just a dumb security guard. Liev Schreiber is Ross Rhea, the ready to retire hitman for the opposition and it all comes down to them finally meeting for some bare knuckle fighting.
Such a brutal film but it fucking rocks! Highly recommended.
