Review of Goon (2012) by Sarita G — 13 Oct 2013

Goon is...well..a...sports movie...I'm trying to think of something that stood out about it and I got nothing. Alison Pill is lovely in everything she does and I enjoyed the fact that she played a "normal" character, even though she normally uses her talents on more outlandish parts.

It was also nice to see Sean William Scott as semi reserved character, granted Goon doesn't have a lot of dialogue in the film (he's well...stupid) and even when it could be called for, Scott keeps it in check.

I've seen reviews raving this movie which is a comedy and maybe it was just not my cup of tea; I did not find myself laughing and aside from the sports themed plot I wasn't interested in the movie. I didn't care or start rooting for our main character until the end of the movie. However I have to applaud the editor, I was getting dizzy watching the film, I would of hated to edit it.
