Review of Goon (2012) by Cheryl L — 04 Mar 2014
I was really surprised with this movie. It's a damn good film that fits into many genres. That's What I Loved About it. It made me laugh out loud, it inspired me, and I could see it bringing some to tears.
William Scott is awesome and his character really develops nicely to the point you feel for the guy. He plays a super nice average guy with zero confidence. He is a security guard at a bar and when he is caught fighting at a hockey game on camera it's shown his fighting skills are second to none.
In a turn of events he gets a gig as an enforcer on a minor league hockey team. His heart carries him the rest of the way...gets him a girl and makes him the star of the team. He does this on all heart alone.
Such a good inspiring film that keeps you locked on from start to finish.
