Given the supposed "embarrassingly predictable" nature of the twist, I guess I'm a complete idiot for not seeing it coming at all. My apparent obliviousness aside, Goodnight Mommy is insanely discomforting from the moment it begins and doesn't let up until it reaches its disturbing conclusion.
Even if you've paid closer attention and have spotted the twist before it's revealed, the experience is still absolutely horrific in a way that most films like this could only hope to be, and the fact that it's absolutely gorgeous to look at is just an added bonus.
