I can think of no movie I have seen that surpasses "Goodfellas". Scene upon scene is a tour-de-force of technical mastery, of performances that are extravagant yet precise, of boundless energy and above all of sheer entertainment.

Even after viewing upon viewing, I continue to rewind moments from this movie in my mind, to experience the intoxication one feels upon seeing or thinking of something outstanding. This film has few equals.
