Review of GoodFellas (1990) by Evan J — 23 Jul 2013
"As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster. To me, being a gangster was better than being president of the United States.".
WOW is really all I can say. This movie was phenomenal. It was brutal, intense, and honest. This was story telling at its absolute finest. A perfect look into the world of organized crime and how one sloppy mistake causes everything to come crashing down. To date this is the greatest gangster/crime film I have ever seen. The fact that this was a real story of a mobster blows my mind. The cast.......simply outstanding! Ray Liotta gives a performance to remember. I have to say it's one of my favorite performances of all time. I can't give him enough credit for his role. De Niro & Pesci were nothing short of amazing as well. I can't forget Lorraine Bracco, she did a wonderful job as Henry Hill's wife. Just flawless acting all around.
Goodfellas sits among one of my favorite movies of all time. A true timeless classic.
