Review of GoodFellas (1990) by Blake B — 29 Jul 2013
"As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster." As soon as I heard that line, I was hooked and this movie took me on a wild ride. Scorsese is a genius, simply put; I don't know how he did it but I'm damn glad he did.
The whole cast is wonderful. De Niro adds a lot of goodness to every scene he's in instead of just being pushed aside as a side character, Pesci is very intense and you can't wait to see what this maniac does next, Liotta will have you on the edge of your seat just hoping that whatever trouble he's in, he can get out.
It'll surprise you, it'll make you laugh, it'll show you what gangsters are all about. GoodFellas. Don't ever tell Pesci to go f*** himself.
