Review of GoodFellas (1990) by John C — 01 Mar 2015
Too real to win over Hollywood and too gory to be funny, Goodfellas marks a Mafian era when Italian immigrants ruled the streets of America throughout the 1950's. Also based on true events, this movie would signify yet another directing achievement for Martin Scorsese and help the veteran A-list cast glow forever as the acting idols of the 90's.
It was the winner of 2 Academy Awards, including Joe Pesci's bad boy supporting role that would ultimately lift the actor to mega stardom throughout his era of acting. 5 stars.
