Story wise and picture wise it is mediocre at best. The dialogue are plain with no real character to root for. Personally I just can't understand the hype of Goodfellas as a classic. In terms of genre Godfather definitely did it better.
In the end of the day, it is just an inferior predecessor of Wolf of Wallstreet.
