Review of GoodFellas (1990) by Frank C — 23 May 2013

While not the best mobster movie ever made and arguably a far cry from "Godfather" in terms of arty-ness, "Goodfellas" is my favourite movie of all time and will never be unseated from that pinnacle. This is one of the only movies I know line by line, and it is one of the few movies (along with "Dazed and Confused", "The King Of Kong", "Fubar", and "Detroit Rock City") that I can watch any time, any place, over and over again, and never get bored of it.

The music, the shooting, the characters, the casting, the plot, the narration, the "based on a true story" underpinnings, and virtually everything about this movie is perfect for me. I can't even discuss it rationally. It's just my favourite movie because it is, and I'm okay with that.
