Review of Goodbye Solo (2009) by Geneviève C — 04 Nov 2009

Wow, that was depressing. I have no idea why this film was in the comedy section. It's the story of an otherwise healthy but clinically depressed old biker, and a stranger's failure to prevent him from committing suicide.

For about two weeks a random taxi driver tries to reignite the old man's desire to live and tries to help him reconnect with the living, without success. Clinical help (or help of any kind) is never sought.

In the last scene, the taxi driver drives the depressed old man to his death. Very depressing.
