Review of Goodbye Solo (2009) by Jacob F — 15 Jan 2010
Goodbye Solo will be a challnege for some moviegoers and a gem of a movie for others. There are no explosions and no special effects, but all conversation between a cab driver and his passenger. the unlikely duo form a friendship of trust and understanding that is unlike any on film.
This is a story of mystery, compassion and hope. The journey these two men take is quite astounding. One a Taxi driver, the other a man on his own journey with a simple, yet perplexing request.
One of the best of 2009. Goodbye Solo shouldn't be missed.
If you're looking for a companion film, check out The Visitor...another fine film that was lost among the big budget films in 2008.
