Review of Goodbye Solo (2009) by Erick F — 03 May 2010
After watching this film, I was pretty sure I liked it. But I wasn't sure if it was worth a 90% or 80%. Usually I don't take too long to make a decision, but it has been two weeks now and I'm still going back and forth.
The film is interesting, don't get me wrong, but sometimes it felt like a forced "indy film" with a lot of "oooh read in between the lines!!!!" moments. Which is cool, but they felt forced rather then subtle.
I like the ending though, not where I thought it was going to go. Solo & William have great performances, it is worth checking out. Good enough concept good enough execution. Watch it!
