Review of Goodbye Solo (2009) by D T — 19 Jun 2010
I'm not usually a fan of that bare-bone arthouse style of filmmaking. Finding too often that filmmakers wear it like a badge, all the while forgetting to actually express/say anything interesting. Which, yet again, just goes to show that the formfactor is but a tool - what matters is how the tool is used.
It is used quite well here and the results strike some deep chords.
