In 1939, almost everyone was watching 'Gone with the Wind' , where in fact the best film was mostly ignored. Mr Chips has a warmth that many will relate to, a devoted teacher who struggles to terms with his wife's illness and as the obvious happens, late in life he discovers how blessed he is to have such a wonderful family of students.
