Review of Good Will Hunting (1997) by Jon P — 02 Jul 2014
Poignant, poetic and completely unpretentious, Gus Van Sant's affecting drama is an indelible movie with an inspiring message. The film showcases some real performance, but it's Ben Affleck and Matt Damon's astonishing screenplay that really steals the show, offering something seldom seen in contemporary cinema: moving monologues and smouldering sentimentality that actually, genuinely work.
An absolute must-see.
