Review of Good Will Hunting (1997) by Mimi S — 29 Oct 2012
Grade: A.
Good Will Hunting is a very decent film with some good performances from its cast. The story is about a trouble 20 year old genuis, Will, played by Matt Damon whose amazing talent is discovered by a maths professor (Stellan Skarsgaard) who offer him maths tuiton and therapy instead of jail. At first a reluctant Will struggles to adapt but he builds a bond with his therapist (played by Robin William- I love love love that man; every film he's in he's terrific). The film really does have a nice message about friendship, love, modesty and your roots. It shows that smart people come from different backgrounds and not everyone takes advantage or is aware of their talents. A really lovely and heartwarming film.
