Review of Good Time Max (2008) by Quinn H — 24 Dec 2008
Apparently James Franco directed and co-wrote this film, in which he also plays the lead part. It is an impressive debut. Franco first came to my attention as an actor as part of the ensemble in the short lived but brilliant TV series Freaks and Geeks.
Franco gave his character depth. The talent behind and in front of the camera in that series went on to big things. Franco has been in major blockbusters and in small films where he could really shine as an actor.
In this he not only turns in another complex on-screen characterization, but he reveals great promise as a director and screenwriter, too. Check it out! It may be playing in festivals and art houses, but on DVD you have to go to Blockbuster where it is an exclusive.
