Review of Good Time (2017) by Travis W — 22 Jan 2018
An allegory for whiteness? Robert Pattison's character wins so much you get tired of him winning. The reliable expectation that his character is going to evade the consequences and come out on top ultimately blunts the propulsive energy of the film.
Nonetheless, GOOD TIME is a totally original film in look and feel, and Pattison is proving himself one of the most versatile male leads (and character actors, see Lost City of Z) in the biz today. He's got a great sense for worthwhile projects too, so keep an out for any new Pattison vehicles in the future.
