Review of Good Night, and Good Luck. (2005) by Harry T — 21 Feb 2011
Really enjoyed the use of lighting, and how Clooney kept the camera in nice and tight to elevate tension. Strathairn is remarkable -- and it's pretty hard to not give the nod to Langella whenever he's in a scene.
More than anything else, the film impresses me with its relevance. Edward R. Murrow may have been the last true television newscaster. The film's themes and indictments are fully applicable today, as are the questions it poses about editorializing, fear-mongering, and the ethical obligations of those who work in media.
