Review of Good Night, and Good Luck. (2005) by Meghna P — 18 Mar 2010
An entertaining and extremely well made film about Edward R. Murrow's attack on Sen. Joseph McCarthy during the mid 50's. It features a very well written screenplay but the story clearly gives this historical account from a left-wing perspective.
Builds Murrow up above where he really was. Fantastic camera work and being filmed in black and white was absolutely perfect. Incredible performances, especially from Strathairn and Langella. One gripe I have is that it has very few really dramatic moments.
There are a couple of scenes that stand out but nothing that really grabs you. It moves at one pace and there is never a real change in that pace. That aside, this a very good film. Just remember...it's fiction.
