The movie is about CBS reporter Edward R. Murrow (David Strathairn) and his TV shows crew fight against Senator Joseph McCarthy and his fear/paranoia mongering about communism. While the cast sure is great, the film itself fails to make the dramatization work and the movie just feels like very straight-lined and unsurprising documentary, which ends with a whisper rather than a bang.
