Review of Good Night, and Good Luck. (2005) by Zach M — 28 Feb 2012
When my school's history program decided to show this movie, I thought I had nothing to lose considering I had heard nothing but good things about it and it was free. After 93 minutes of black and white film and historical footage, I was left feeling very happy that I took the time to watch it.
Not only is it a terrific drama, but it really teaches a valuable history lesson from a very different perspective rather than those taught in high school and basic college history courses. George Clooney's directorial approach is exceptional and it works so well in giving the film a very authentic feel.
It really engages the viewer and makes you feel like you're living the events in the film firsthand. Clooney, Downey Jr., and Strathairn are the three lead actors in the movie and are spectacular; each actor breathes life into their character which just adds to the authenticity of the movie.
Rather than giving away too many details in this review, I highly suggest those looking for a great drama that this is a must see.
