Review of Good Night (2008) by Lauren C — 19 May 2008
Good enough to watch. It's an alright movie. Nothing to spectacular about it. Nothing that stands out, but it wasn't horrible. For those of you who like Simon Pegg, he's got a few good lines. This is not the mainstream stuff that the majority of Americans like, I must warn you. If you liked...Science of Sleep...or...or I Heart Huckabees you might like this, or even if you have a sheer appreciation of Martin Freeman.
Anyways, Freeman brings the story along spectacularly! Cruz is indifferent throughout the first half of the movie, playing out one man's fantasy, but when she appears as flesh and bone the character change is amazing. She seems like there is something going on in the back of her head the whole time, a sadness trying to force its way out allowing her to smile only on occasion and only briefly. Amazing.
Anyway, like I said, alright movie. Danny DeVito is short and....that's that.
