Review of Good Luck Chuck (2007) by Tom B — 21 Jun 2011
As long as you are not offended by nudity, this flick is fun. The premise is that at a teenybopper Spin the Bottle party a rejected sex-crazed Goth puts a curse on Charlie that anyone with whom he has sex will fall crazily in love with the next man she meets.
Eventually word gets around and Charlie is besieged by love-starved females and as a public service . . . The problem occurs when he falls in love. Dane Cook plays Charlie deftly enough that he is a sympathetic character.
Dan Fogler hams it up as his eternally immature friend and Jessica Alba is gorgeous and suitably reluctant as Charlie's true love. Not deep, but enjoyable if nudity, gross jokes, or penguins don't turn you off.
