There's something that always intrigues me about a war film. They tend to be gritty, fast paced, action packed, and fun to watch. Well, with "Good Kill" it's almost the exact opposite. This isn't a war drama, in my eyes it is a drama about a man who doesn't like where he's at in life, misses his old job, and bored with his family.

Ethan Hawke, who I've always been a huge fan of, and always thought was a very under rated actor, stars here, and if it hadn't been for his performance, which was cold, quiet, reclusive, and angry, then this film would be receiving a lower score from me. He's definitely the bright spot, and he has a little help from January Jones, who plays his wife, and she does well.

The action, and lack thereof, was exactly that. There wasn't any really, except watching drones blow up buildings and terrorists from 10,000 feet in the sky. I think the most excitement I got was watching Hawke's character finally let out some anger and destroying a mirror with his fist.

The plot is slow, it's quiet, and it's downright boring to say the least. I lost interest halfway into it, but kept watching because of Ethan Hawke, and I rarely shut a film off after starting. It just wasn't a film that I liked and thought more would come of it. It's a decent story, it's just boring, and slow. But, it did give me a whole new perspective on these drone pilots' lives, and the things they deal with everyday. 3/5 JD.
