Review of Good Kill (2015) by Kaustubh H — 03 Oct 2015
Blowing up flesh and blood, not pixels. The authenticity of Good Kill's premise of drone warfare is chilling to say the least. Today when the supposed "war on terror" or the war for oil has taken a morally questionable turn towards drone warfare, Good Kill comes at the right time confronting us with questions that have been posed to us in many other movies such as Hurt Locker, Kingdom, Traitor etc etc.
But Good Kill retains its charm for tackling the issue sensitively and giving the inside story on these pilots who though are not on the actual battlefield are facing something of those sorts on their home soil.
Ethan Hawke is brilliant yet again and this great film coming from the director of Gattaca and Lord of War isn't surprising in its sheer impact.
