I am personally not that well informed about African American hair. I have knowledge of their hair being nappy and that's pretty much it. I actually learned a lot from Good Hair and it was very well narrated by Chris Rock.

I never knew what a relaxer was but now I know it is essential for black women everywhere. A very educational film about hair. A fun watch even if you don't relate to the film. This film does seem aimed to one specific audience which sort of killed the motive of the film.

But it was a decent documentary with humor.
