Chris Rock is being sued by a documentary filmmaker who claims he stole the idea of the movie from her. I think there's some validity in her claim. Rock's movie is good but I would've liked to have seen the topic explores through the eyes of a documentary filmmaker.

I think the subject would've had some context that this film didn't explore. Black didn't just wake up one day and decide we hated our hair. Decades of pressure to conform and downright institutionalized hate probably had something to do with it.

Rock didn't explore the origins of why black women seek out "good hair" just that we do.
