Whereas another celebrity-hosted social issue documentary, 'Religulous,' was derailed by an arrogant emcee and POV, Chris Rock never gets in the way of the subject matter; he lends the proceedings a refreshing balance of lightness and relevance.
Unfortunately, the story thread that provides the film with much of its structural framework (the hair competition) never quite makes sense in the context of the rest of the movie, but the whole doc has an intelligent, inquisitive sensibility.
