Review of Good Hair (2009) by Ted H — 28 Jul 2012
Chris Rock is an entertaining host in this documentary about the complications of the black women's hair industry. Not exactly hard-hitting but it does touch on the various issues about self-esteem, economics and in one scene, demonstrate very clearly some of the dangers involved in hair-straightening, or "relaxing" as its called.
There's some confusion and hypocrisy involved but on the whole it maintains an amiable tone in its approach.
