Review of Good Guys Wear Black (1978) by Tony B — 10 Jun 2008
Chuck Norris was one of Bruce Lee's students and his duel with Bruce in THE RETURN OF THE DRAGON is a highlight of that film. This martial arts film was one of a string that Norris made in the late 1970s and early 1980s. When I was 13, I thought it was pretty cool. Years later I watched it again and realized that it was poorly photographed, had plot holes you could drive a semi through, and realized that Norris (by no means a great actor) was horribly wooden in this film.
The main reason to see this film is a scene in which the master assasin tries to run Norris over with his car and Norris leaps in the air and kicks through the windshield of the car, killing his assailant. But even that scene was poorly staged and is done in slow-motion. A real time waster or a waste of time?
