Review of Good Dick (2008) by Rupa B — 06 Apr 2010

I found this film very interesting. The whole movie is based around two characters. You learn their back story throughout the film, because when it first starts, you have no idea what is going on. Jason Ritter plays a guy who is obsessed with a girl who comes into the video store he works at.

He wants to be in a relationship with her. He craves attention and does get with her in a weird way. Marianna Palka is the girl. She is addicted to porn and never really leaves her house much. She is a loner and is just letting her life waste away.

Ritter convinces her to let him stay with her by basically lying and being very stalker like. She is very lonely and doesn't care and he craves attention from her. Other than that, it is really hard to explain this movie.

The two main characters have very unusual personalities that make the movie fun. But there are many parts in between that just ruin the movie; along with some side cast members. One would be Tom Arnold.

There is a scene when he is yelling at Palka, since he plays the father. It was not believable at all. So overall, and interesting film, but not all the way around.
