Review of Good Bye, Lenin! (2003) by Ian W — 26 Mar 2009
I cannot call it a master piece for the components, editing etc. but the idea was original and interesting. What Alex was trying to do was so outrageous and unrealistic, but in the end I was just wishing that things will go as he wishes to be for his sake( and not for his mother's sake).
On the other hand, I felt compassion to his mother for being left out from the reality, but she must have understood that it was done only by her son's love. I didn't like the ending how things turned out but overall it was an interesting movie, also to see some aspects from eastern side of Europe.
