Review of Good Bye, Lenin! (2003) by Tara F — 24 Jun 2010
After waking up from an 8 month coma in which her entire world is turned upside down, Alex, trying to extend his mother's life, creates a perfectly crafted world that continues in the East Germany way of life that his mother last experienced.
Good Bye, Lenin! provides an interesting movie in which to view the changes from socialism to capitalism that occured in East Germany in 1990. It is a touching film, with characters you quickly get attach to and keep your fingers crossed in regards to keeping up this elaborate hoax they have created.
An excellent foreign film, even though the subtitles can be difficult to read at times.
