Review of Good Burger (1997) by Stephen O — 06 Mar 2012

I watched Good Burger the other day and was still happy to find it funny. The story goes that Mondo burger, a huge corporate food chain; has just opened and threatens to close the Good Burger. So it's up to Ed & Dexter to save the day.

The jokes are good for some chuckles here and there, but nothing to hilarious. Kenan Thompson is a good straight man to Kel Mitchell's off the wall character. The rest of the cast does well with the little time their given.

Abe Vigoda almost steals the show with his humorous attitude. The story was nicely written, nothing to deep, but still enjoyable. I was surprised to find the movie didn't seem out of place in today's movie market.

The direction was fair and decent, Brian Robbins finds ways to make every scene work. The problem with the film is the story feels thin. As well scenes that seem to run just a little longer than necessary; also there are times when Ed's blissful stupidity kinda nerves ya.

As for jokes well there not all winners, but dying is easy, comedy is hard. But for a movie that's based on a skit from teen sketch comedy show (All That) the movie goes along without many hitches.

So if your looking for a movie that you and your "tweens" might enjoy try Good Burger.
