Review of Good Burger (1997) by Gordon T — 20 Jan 2010
Of course the TOMATOMETER would FAIL this movie;.
GOOD, RIDICULOUS, HILARIOUS, movie about some jerks who open-up a competing burger-joint across the street from the titular GOOD BURGER establishment.
Its great to see the jerks get their just desserts in the end.
To snotty/snobby/pedantic-film critics GOOD BURGER "sucks" because film critics take themselves way too seriously.
Anyway a film-critic MUST relate to the mentalities of his periodical's readership or he'll be out of a job.
Thus, a film-critic writing for middle-brow crap like THE NEW YORKER will have to "condemn" a film like GOOD BURGER because the film critic's snobby-nosed readership will think he's gone out to lunch (BRITISH expression).
I don't think people who read THE NEW YORKER would "deign" to care about GOOD BURGER . . . average NEW YORKER MAGAZINE readers deceive themselves into being or "acting" pedantic . . . but they are really "sorry disconnects" living in "cubes" they call the world.
I'm glad I'm intelligent and still can enjoy GOOD BURGER.
"...THE NEW YORKER!".
