Review of Good (2008) by Maksim B — 20 Sep 2009
It is very difficult not to have high expectations for drama, morality dilemmas and actors performance, when one is about to watch a World War II drama.
In this particular case Good fails to materialize the most important components for such kind of movies. The drama is quite underdeveloped and the the moral dilemma which Viggo Mortensen faces are sadly not explored the way the audience would like to see it.
Viggo Mortensen and Jason Isaacs do try to save this movie, but the story does not allow them to show their true capabilities, which is quite unfortunate and disappointing given the expectations some might have seeing those two names in the cast.
This could have been a very good movie, but something went wrong, either on the director's side or the writers' side.
