Review of Good (2008) by Gareth N — 23 Apr 2010
Good, but not great. I was intrigued by the premise of a good man in a bad place. Viggo Mortensen is always watchable, although the tone seems to switch schizophrenically from claustrophobia and ominous dread, to virtual slapstick when he's chasing around after his elderly mother.
Jason Isaacs, Mark Strong and Steven Mackintosh are all good, but there are many themes that seem unexplored or unfulfilled, and the direction is haphazard.
