Review of Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson (2008) by Eoin H — 27 Dec 2008
A brilliantly dynamic documentary that treads carefully between documenting the myth and the man.
Who else could allow for pertinent interviews with Jimmy Carter, Hells Angels, George McGovern, Rolling Stone and Pat Buchanon? The film was creative and went some way to explaining the genesis and POINT of Gonzo. I was impressed that Thompson's suicide was dealt with head on and without kid gloves.
