Review of Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson (2008) by Felix G — 30 Dec 2008
In light of all the material out there on Thompson, including other documentaries, this project seems a bit redundant. There's really nothing new or revelatory here. After a haphazard and inauspicious beginning, Gibney takes an episodic look at Thompson's life and work: Hell's Angels, the campaign for sheriff, Fear and Loathing, Presidential politics, decline, suicide, etc.
It's an interesting but not very original recap of one man's life.
