Review of Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson (2008) by Richard T — 06 Jan 2009
This documentary is far too affectionate towards its subject to be taken too seriously- cluttered with pop hits from the period (sometimes awkwardly placed) and conversational anecdotes best suited for a late night party, its fairly compelling as an entertainment piece.
As a complete bio-pic on the life and career of Hunter S. Thompson, it is only satisfactory. Overall I felt a smidge unsatisfied.
