Review of Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson (2008) by Peter M — 13 Jan 2009
The idea of a documentary on Thompson is bound to excite any fan, and the collection of photographs, video and other media on display here definitely will hold value to them, but the film on the whole is not particularly probing of the mind of the man and in the end I felt like an outsider looking in at the subject through glass.
It's a bit surface-oriented and the selection of typical '60s-'70s tunes over montage feels bland and amateur.
