Gonzo is not a very comprehensive documentary of Hunter S. Thompson. This movie rolls like a really long story that has been cut too short. What Gonzo does touch on is an overview of Mr. Thompson's politics and a few highlights of his career.
There are random snippits of how his family feel about him now that he is dead. Johnny Depp has a little schpeal here and there in the documentary. There aren't any interviews with childhood friends, early work associates, past flings, or any video footage of Oscar Acosta, a.
K.a. Dr. Gonzo. If you're looking for a well-done overview of Mr. Thompson's life Gonzo is the way to go.
